Student and Neighbour Liaison
Key Objectives
- Emphasise at the induction meeting for all new students moving into halls and at the yearly private sector house hunting events, the importance of students being considerate to other residents whilst living in the community.
- Advice given to students on how they can reduce noise levels in their homes.
- Respond quickly to any issues or complaints that are received by residents and monitor the issues raised.
- Work in Partnership with Portsmouth City Council and the University of Portsmouth Students Union to address matters of mutual concern.
- Work closely with the Student Housing Officers and Community Tutor in order to respond effectively to any complaints that are received.
- Work with other relevant agencies to respond to effectively to complaints.
- Contact all private sector student properties that are registered with the University during the academic year to remind the students that they are living in the Community and need to continue to be considerate of their neighbours.
- Contact all returning students that are planning to live in the community after their time in halls to make them aware of the Student and Neighbour Liaison Service and offer advice to ensure their time in the community is a positive one.
- On-going awareness through the Student Union publication, the University Website and literature published by Student Housing.
- Strongly discourage students from bringing cars to Portsmouth.
