UPEN has been established to coordinate and promote the excellent and diverse strengths that exist across this institution and to facilitate new collaborations among both internal and external partners.

At a glance
- This year has seen the formation of a cross-faculty group to help facilitate the engagement of the 100+ university staff who are involved with environment-related teaching, research and knowledge transfer.
- A new ethical investment policy has been launched by the University of Portsmouth. Wherever possible, University funds will be invested according to the latest ethical investment principles.
- Over 40% of our students are studying for degrees which could directly contribute to the environmental challenges that lie ahead. The Students’ Union has gained a silver Sound Environmental Impact award for the second year running.
- 36 projects worth over £5.5 million which have had a direct positive impact on the environment and future behaviour of companies in the UK.
