The Making of Monsters: the development of evil states of mind and their treatment
Date: Saturday 15 June 2013
Time: 10.00am-1.00pm
Venue: Portland Building, Portland Street, Portsmouth PO1 3AH
Dr Gwen Adshead is a forensic psychiatrist and psychotherapist who has worked for the last ten years at Broadmoor Hospital. She has a research interest in moral reasoning and how this links with 'bad' behaviour. She has published widely on forensic psychotherapy, ethics in psychiatry, and attachment theory as a contribution to comprehending 'evil' behaviour.
The morning is relevant to all those who work with and want to understand troubled behaviours and where they might lead, whether in criminal justice, health and social care or educational settings, or counselling/psychotherapy services.
The lecture is supported by the University of Portsmouth Counselling Service, the Solent Group for Psychotherapists and Counsellors and PCSR.
Admission is free but by ticket only from http://makingofmonsters.eventbrite.co.uk/
