Accounting and Financial Management
Employability is an essential part of our students’ learning experience. We aim to develop opportunities for students to prove to employers that they have key workplace skills and experience. Between their undergraduate second and third years, students have the opportunity to undertake a one year paid placement. In addition to this, we encourage students to develop transferable skills throughout their studies by embedding opportunities into the curriculum such as business simulations exercises, business plan presentations and financial data analysis using Bloomberg city trader software. We work closely with a range of charities in the area and students have the opportunity to get involved in a range of projects such as corporate governance reviews, systems audits, and budgeting and funding applications. Other opportunities include training as debt advisers in conjunction with the School of Law.
