The Economic Consequences of Positive and Negative Corporate Social Responsibility Reporting: Evidence from UK Banking Sector
Nowadays, it is no longer acceptable for a firm to experience economic success in isolation from those parties impacted by its actions. A firm must now focus its attention on both increasing its bottom line and being a good corporate citizen, the perception of the firms’ corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities is important not only for investors’ and customers’ risk assessment, but also for regulators’ good-will and for the public’s confidence in the financial system.
This research will mainly focus on breaking down the CSR to positive and negative in the UK banking sector to understand the effect of this type of reporting on its economy.
