Dr Tarek Abdelfattah joined the University of Portsmouth as a senior lecturer of Accounting and Financial Management in June 2017. He completed his PhD in Accounting and Finance at Durham University in 2009. Prior to joining the University of Portsmouth, he held the post of Assistant Professor of Accounting and Finance at Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University – UAE; The British University in Egypt (BUE) and Mansoura University, Egypt. Dr Abdelfattah taught several accounting modules on postgraduate and undergraduate programs in UK, UAE and Egypt. He has been a visiting lecturer at Sunderland Business School and a part time lecturer at Durham Business School, UK. He was the director of the E-Learning Unit at Faculty of Commerce, Mansoura University, Egypt.
Dr. Abdelfattah has extensive practical experience in training and consultancy in the field of accounting and auditing. He designed and delivered Professional training courses and consultations for private and governmental organizations in MENA region. Dr. Abdelfattah is a member of the advisory committee of TUV SUD PSB – Singapore for Management Systems and Product Certification (ACMP).
Dr. Abdelfattah has presented his papers at international research conferences and published some papers in international refereed journals. Currently, he is the editor of International Journal of Excellence in Islamic Banking and Finance.
