The University of Portsmouth operates a successful recruitment consultancy service.  Purple Door Recruitment matches the right graduate to your business requirements in a fast, efficient and seamless manner.

When you first contact Purple Door Recruitment you will be assigned a dedicated experienced recruitment consultant who will discuss your requirements, learn about your organisation and guide you through all stages of the recruitment process – from candidate short listing right through to successful placement.

This professional service is based on a payment on placement basis – currently at the low cost of 5% of the annual salary.

Short-term projects

Our experience has shown that on occasion businesses can benefit from the versatility provided by a short-term appointment. These appointments are often used to undertake business critical projects. Our graduates have a flexible approach to work opportunities and are adaptable for these kinds of requirements. As with the permanent graduate recruitment service a dedicated experienced recruitment consultant will manage your requirements and will ensure the right candidate is sourced at a cost of £250 + VAT for this service.

Part-time workforce

Students are actively looking for part-time work, whether directly related to their course or for additional money while they are at University. Students offer employers a flexible and willing workforce with many skills including customer service, team working and the ability to work under pressure.  Students bring an extra level of motivation and enthusiasm to your organisation and are equipped with excellent IT skills.

Vacancies are advertised to students through the online vacancy system, providing details of your vacancy and the skills requirement. The online advert will have details of how you would like a student to apply for your vacancy.  Most employers require students to email them with their CV and employers are then able to review the CVs at a convenient time.

Summer employment – students often remain in Portsmouth over the summer and will be looking for full-time hours during the summer or for employment just for the summer. Students can be of great benefit to employers when their own staff take their summer holidays.
