The Fast Forward project, a free event: Open Innovation in the manufacturing sector
Ever considered how existing pieces of IP from different companies could work together to create new business opportunities? Open innovation is a platform that has been used inside large sector corporates for some time. The Fast Forward project aims to successfully introduce the concept between individual SMEs in the manufacturing sector, by showing how bringing IP together under an open innovation platform can lead to new markets, new sales and business growth.
This innovative workshop uses leading figures from successful industry players to share best practice on maximizing your IP’s potential to work alongside other IP to grow your business. You’ll meet the Vice President from SELEX Galileo and Collaborative Manager from BAE Systems Ltd and share their insights on the successful use of open innovation within their companies and delivering IP exploitation.
Presenter 1 – Steve Mallon (Vice President of SELEX Galileo)
Steve will outline how SELEX have used open innovation to bring together differing IP from across the group and develop new products for the defence and security electronics industry and how this has helped them grow as an international group of companies.
Presenter 2 – Steve Harris (Collaborative Manager of BAE Systems)
Steve will give an overview of how BAE systems use open innovation to bring IP from different sectors of the business, creating new technologies and applications that lead to business growth.
Presenter 3 – Professor Paul Trott and Joe Sekhon (Innovation and IP experts from the University of Portsmouth)
Paul and Joe will present modern leading methods for using open innovation to exploit existing IP, giving an overview of how theory can be put into practice.
Manufacturing Advisory Service representatives will also be on-hand to discuss the availability of grants to help with innovation and IPR, as well as key Innovation and IP experts from local universities.
