Portsmouth Business School

The Business School has a tradition of supplying specialist consultants to meet the specific needs of clients in the public, voluntary and commercial sectors.

Locally, staff have been engaged on a major market research exercise for the new Gunwharf sea-front shopping complex in Portsmouth and have facilitated sessions on strategic management for the Future Leaders Programme at Portsmouth City Council.

Over the last five years an ongoing research contract with the MoD has analysed and provided solutions to Naval Manpower issues. A new three year contract is imminent, looking at risk assessment.

Further afield we are looking into Performance Evaluation at AWE Aldermaston, carrying out a case progression project on the Bedfordshire Criminal Justice System for the Lord Chancellor and have completed a three year culture change programme for managers in the Export Credit Guarantee Department (ECGD) in Docklands.

Other short term commissions have included Human Resource and Organisational Consulting for William Trimble and Business Planning for several charities and NHS Trusts.
