Career planning through the curriculum

During your time here at University there will be a number of opportunities for you to start thinking about career planning as part of your studies. All full time undergraduate pathways either offer a graduate employability unit or have employability activities embedded within their curriculum. These activities will help you understand the process of planning a career as well as how to market yourself effectively to prospective employers or postgraduate course providers.

In addition, all students undertake Personal Development Planning (PDP) and have access to an ePortfolio where a record of achievements, skills and experiences can be stored. PDP is undertaken within the personal tutorial system, allowing an opportunity for you to engage in discussions with your tutors where you will be supported to set academic, personal as well as career related goals. Although you may not be ready to make career decisions at this stage, these discussions will ensure that you take advantage of all opportunities whilst here at University that can assist with your career plans.
