Working in the local area

You may be interested in working in the Portsmouth or Hampshire area when you finish your course. Many graduates chose to do this. So how can you find opportunities in the local area?

In Hampshire, many smaller organisations offer graduates employment as they know the benefits that graduate can add to their company. Graduate Training Programmes tend to be offered by large organisations and therefore you are likely to find these opportunities quite limited in the local area. There are lots of resources you can use to research Graduate Training Opportunities and find out what opportunities are offered in the Hampshire area.

Many graduates find work with small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in Hampshire. Whilst a formal training scheme may not be in place, they often find they are able to 'grow' in their role and progress quickly through the organisation. Large organisations in the area may also have opportunities that are not targeted specifically at graduates, but which offer a good starting point to develop your career.

Register with the Jobs Board to search for local part-time and graduate opportunities.
