Brighton Journalist Works

Come to a free journalism workshop where you can find out what it is like to be a journalist and everything that you need to know about starting a career in journalism.

It is an informal and fun session for you to learn what makes a news story and how to write a story for a newspaper; You will produce your own story from ‘breaking news’ and get some guidance and feedback from our (working journalist) tutors.

You will also find out what editors are looking for when recruiting, the different career options available and what you need to do to start your journalism career.

We are based in the office of The Argus, Brighton’s daily newspaper, and you will have a tour of the Argus newsroom, some light refreshments and the opportunity to ask any questions you have.

Experience a ‘day in the life of a journalist’ to help you decide whether a career in journalism is the right path for you.

Our free workshops take place over the summer; the next ones are:  Friday 15th June, Thursday 5th July and Friday 3rd August 2012.
