Project management training opportunity
The Project Management Institute (PMI) offers a range of training and certification options, including the entry-level Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®). PMI certification is an excellent asset for your CV, especially for international employment opportunities.
The purpose of the CAPM® is to demonstrate understanding of the fundamental principles, terminology and processes of effective project management based on the PMI body of knowledge.
The School of Computing is planning to offer a four-day CAPM® course in early June 2013, taught by an external PMI-accredited training provider. The course is to prepare students to sit the CAPM® certification exam at a PMI-accredited test centre.
The course is offered to University of Portsmouth students at a discounted price of £340 based on the costs of the external training provision and minimal university overheads. This is significantly cheaper than normal commercial prices. To sit the examination there will be an additional cost of £160* for student membership of PMI. At present the nearest test centre is in London, but we are
exploring the possibility of University of Portsmouth attaining PMI accreditation.
