SummerFest

SummerFest is a series of FREE career fairs and events from May 2013 – September 2013 for all students and graduates*. All the events are being held at or run from Purple Door (Guildhall Walk).  

SummerFest kicks off with the Headliner acts in May, followed by the Support Acts in June/July and the Virtual Acts in August. You can win Bestival tickets by attending 3 SummerFest events and entering your ticket into the draw.

Headliners

The Headliner acts include several fairs in which employers will be offering a range of opportunities for you.  The career advisors will also be on hand to help you with careers choice, applications and much more.  There is also a No Ideas Clinic for anyone who doesn’t have a clue what they want to do.

Support Acts

The support acts are still being confirmed but will include a range of events and workshops to help you get into part time work, gain invaluable work experience and help graduates in to graduate roles (including enterprise). ‘Get That Job’ will be running during graduation week this is a drop in opportunity for 2013 graduates to get face to face advice from career advisors about the next steps and opportunities available to you.

Virtual Acts

Purple Door understands that many you will return home at the end of term when your accommodation contracts come to an end. That’s why we will be offering a virtual month so you can access the services regardless of where you live.

Win Bestival Tickets
Students and graduates* can win Bestival tickets by attending 3 SummerFest events between May and July and entering their ticket into the draw During August students can win iTunes vouchers by taking part in virtual acts and entering their completed ticket into the draw. SummerFest is open to all University of Portsmouth Students and *Graduates up to 5 years (including 2013 graduates).
