BASAS conference 2015

The Securitisation of South Asia

29th BASAS Annual Conference, 8th – 10th April

The Annual Conference of the British Association of South Asian Studies (BASAS) took place on 8th – 10th April 2015 at the University of Portsmouth.

The conference aimed to address the ways in which concepts of security and insecurity have and are playing themselves out in different South Asian contexts at macro, meso, and micro scales, through panels and independent papers that addressed the conference theme—whether at global, personal, local, regional, state and inter-state levels—within South Asia and across its diaspora.
