Biography

Ann is a Lecturer in Education Studies, holds a PhD in Education from the University of Sussex and comes from a background of over 15 years of working in international education in various countries including Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, and Macedonia.  She has experience working in education in conflict affected settings on in-service teacher training, reading, and vocational education projects.  

Teaching Responsibilities

Ann is currently responsible for teaching the undergraduate units Research with Children and Young People and Global Childhoods.  She is also supervising undergraduate and MA dissertations, and teaching on the MA in Education.  

Research

Ann’s research areas include citizenship education and the marginalisation of minority populations.  She is also interested in the relationship between education and conflict and peacebuilding.
