Perceptions of using a Group Support System to support group decision making

This presentation will report on group member perceptions of the quality of group process using one form of group support system (GSS), using wireless handsets, in a field-based application. The meetings involved a large medical group developing judgements concerned with decisions related to the diagnosis, treatment and aftercare of a set of serious medical conditions. A particularly interesting feature of this application was that the group members were, themselves, responsible for how and when to use the group support.
