Research Day

The first Research Day of the Centre for Operational Research and Logistics (CORL) will be held at the University of Portsmouth.

The day seeks to bring together experienced and early career researchers working in one of the four main CORL research themes, namely Multi Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA), Soft OR, Optimisation Modelling and Exact Methods, Heuristics & Metaheuristics. The event will kick-off with a welcome session, followed by keynote sessions and parallel streams to present current research in key areas of Operational Research.

Attendance is free. Coffee breaks and lunch will be provided.

Abstract submission

We are inviting early career and experienced researchers to present their work (20min + 5min) in the area of one of the following streams.

  • Stream 1: Multi Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA)
  • Stream 2: Soft OR
  • Stream 3: Optimisation Modelling
  • Stream 4: Exact Methods, Heuristics & Metaheuristics

Please submit an abstract (max. 200 words) by Friday, 11 March 2016 to jana.ries@port.ac.uk

PhD student grants

Five travel grants are available to cover expenses of up to £100 to travel to the CORL research day where grant holders are expected to give a presentation. Please add a discussion of the impact of your research to your abstract submission (max 150 words) and clearly indicate your intention to apply for the travel grant.
