Why take this course?
Do you have an interest in the world of business? This course enables you to understand business in a global context and develop valuable cross-cultural business communication skills.
We aim to offer a fresh approach to the study of business, exploring the practical issues facing today’s global business managers.

Business is important across the world, affecting every country’s economy. This British-based business course is designed to apply to business issues on an international scale. It is therefore a sound entry qualification for many careers, both in the UK and overseas.

Only those who have previously studied at higher education level should apply. Applicants must have completed 1, 2 or 3 years (depending on academic profile) in Higher Education including some business subjects.
For year 1 and 2 entry applicants require English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 5.5 with no component score below 5.5. For year 3 entry applicants require English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.0 with no component score below 5.5.

Structure & Teaching
Year one
Direct entry to second year
Year two
Develop your understanding of the management of people and of the different processes within the business environment. These processes will include the study of topics such as human resources, marketing and management.
Core units in this year include:

Year three
Tailor your learning through a range of options and continue to develop your English language and business English skills. You will also undertake an individual business research project on a relevant topic of your choice.

Teaching and Assessment
Our teaching approach involves a varied structure of lectures, seminars, tutorials, workshops and practical sessions. We aim to provide a stimulating environment that encourages use of IT teaching methods as well as participation in group discussions and projects, alongside individual study.

Facilities & Features
International Office
We are a very cosmopolitan community with more than 4,000 international and EU students from over 100 different countries. The role of the International Office is to provide you with extensive support to make your time here as stress-free and enjoyable as possible, enabling you to focus on your studies.
Language Laboratories
We have three state-of-the-art, Sony Virtuoso language labs offering a rich and effective multimedia language environment. Video, sound and text sources can be integrated to provide a first-class learning experience.
Computing
We have invested heavily in open access computer suites across campus. Great working spaces with high-spec PCs (multimedia and CAD), Macs and printing facilities. There is also more specialised software and equipment available such as large format printing, audio-visual equipment and language laboratories. Should you need any assistance, there are specialist technicians on hand to support you in using the facilities.
University Library
Modern, comfortable and a great learning environment, our library offers a wealth of information including 400,000 books, DVDs, maps and thousands of online ejournals and newspapers. Many electronic resources are available anywhere, 24/7 and our friendly staff are always on hand to help.

Many of our previous graduates now hold senior management positions and with our impressive record of graduate recruitment; you will be employable in a wide range of sectors.

Employers tell us that they want graduates to be able to demonstrate certain skills when they come out of university. Our courses take account of this.
