The BeD Teaching English as a Secondary Language programme provides teaching for both primary and secondary schools. After the Foundation year in Malaysia, students complete the next three years at the School of Languages and Area Studies at the University of Portsmouth. Students then return to Malaysia, spending one semester in the classroom and one on observed teaching practice in local secondary schools.

This vocational programme provides students will the opportunity to acquire high levels of language proficiently, through classroom based interaction, self study and observation in a range of educational institutes. Students will be provided with the relevant knowledge and experience to develop into teachers. On completion, graduates will work in government schools.
