This is a course designed specifically for Teaching Assistants working in a learning support role in an educational setting where they will have responsibility for young people who have English as an additional language. The course covers a range of topics including second language acquisition, working with parents and liaising with colleagues. Employer support is a requirement for entry. On successful completion of the course students are eligible for progression onto HE Level 2 (Level 5) of the Foundation Degree in Learning Support.
