MA Creative And Cultural Leadership

The MA Creative and Cultural Leadership is a new, work-based Masters programme for people who are interested in creative and cutting-edge ideas about leadership and management of people. Drawing from the fields of positive psychology, organisational theory and creative process, this programme is both multidisciplinary and global, drawing on both a diverse range of ideas and a rich range of delivery partners from around the globe.
The course is run by the Portsmouth Centre for Enterprise, whose approach is based firmly on helping students to develop their own enterprising behaviours through experiential learning, and which has a strong global view based on an international network of creative partners.
The MA Creative and Cultural Leadership is based around four key themes, each introduced through an intensive, one-week Global Enterprise Academy. You will study ‘Self Leadership’ in Portsmouth, and then move to Denmark to explore the theme of ‘Transformational Leadership' – hosted by Kaos Pilots, a renowned centre of expertise in creative and transformational leadership. ‘Creative Leadership' is delivered in India, hosted by Whistling Woods – a unique institute for the film and broadcast industry, situated in the Bollywood hills, and ‘Global Leadership’ takes place in China, with the support of the Entrepreneurs School of Asia, who are based in the Philippines. In between the Global Enterprise Academies, you will undertake work-based projects that will allow you to extend the theory and apply it to real situations that you are facing in your own work environment. Alongside these core units you will study research methods in preparation for a final dissertation on a related subject of your choosing.
Throughout the programme, you will be supported by our core Portsmouth team of academic experts and the programme will be enriched through input from our host institutions, as well as industry experts from around the world.
