MA Translation Studies (Distance Learning)

Entry Requirements: Good honours degree or equivalent. Students whose main language is English need advanced knowledge of another language (Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Russian or Spanish).
Deadline for applications
All applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to secure a place, but full applications should be submitted by:
- 4 January 2010 for February 2010 intake
- 2 August 2010 for September 2010 intake
Any application, full or incomplete, received after these dates will be considered for the following intake.
The successful MA Translation Studies, currently offered in classroom mode, will shortly be available in distance learning mode. The languages offered are: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Russian, Spanish and Portuguese. For further information please access:
The classroom-based MA Translation Studies has been offered to students from a range of different countries for over 10 years and is now joined by the distance-learning MA Translation Studies. Many colleagues contribute to the delivery of the MA Translation Studies in both modes. Our unit coordinators and tutors are active in research and scholarship, and have wide experience of the world of professional translation. The annual Portsmouth Translation Conference is now its seventh year and continues to attract interest from national, European and international scholars, the translation profession and postgraduate students.
