Rachild Crookendale-Ward - MSc Forensic Accounting

Rachild chose Portsmouth because MSc Forensic Accounting is a unique course that isn’t offered at many other institutions in the UK. She wanted to further her studies in a nice environment and Portsmouth seemed the right place.

I'm from Barbados and not accustomed to the cold so heading to the south of England seemed more sensible than heading north. I chose Forensic Accounting because I wanted a degree that would open me to a niche market when I returned home and allow me to have an advantage. Many students are leaving university with a BSc in Accounting and I wanted something that would set me apart from other graduates.

The Portsmouth Business School facilities are modern and the resources plentiful, allowing students to get work done with ease. I particularly enjoyed having the opportunity to learn and use the Bloomberg trading terminals, which financial professionals use daily.

The staff also made my experience at Portsmouth an enjoyable one. The support offered (academically and otherwise) was fantastic. I always felt comfortable seeking advice on a matter especially with Mr. Trafford who is a great lecturer and an amazing personal tutor. There is no doubt in my mind that I made the right choice about coming to the University of Portsmouth.'
