Abdulla Al Sulaiti – MSc Geographical Information Systems

I have an interest in history and Portsmouth seemed to have a strong historical importance. I had also heard lots of good things about the University of Portsmouth, including from graduates who have now returned to my home country. The course also seemed better than other courses I looked at.

The course is brilliant. The staff, including the technicians, are always willing to help and explain the best methods when working with Geographical Information Systems. I have also spoken to friends who chose to study at other universities and it seems Portsmouth has a much higher quality in its teaching resources.

The International Office made me feel very welcome, giving me lots of good advice. My wife and kids have joined me in Portsmouth while I study and they like Portsmouth, particularly the shops. Plus, there are many attractions worth visiting such as Southsea Castle, the City Museum, Old Portsmouth and the Historic Dockyard, as well as the Isle of Wight across the Solent.
