Christopher Simms BA (Hons), MA, PGCLTHE, Chartered Marketer
Chris is the course leader for the MSc in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship. His teaching interests are new product development, innovation management, packaging, and marketing.
Chris is an active researcher in the area of product development. His current research involves working with a range of leading Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) firms across the UK, examining their management of packaging. Chris has published over half a dozen articles in marketing journals, and presented his work at numerous conferences across Europe. He also has experience of working with small companies on knowledge transfer and consultancy projects.
Paul Trott BSc (Hons), PhD (Cranfield), Dip M, Pg Cert HE
Paul is Professor of Innovation Management at the Business School. His research explores innovation policy and how firms manage innovation. Paul has published over fifty articles on innovation management. His work has been published in many different internationally recognised journals. His book Innovation Management & New Product Development is now in its 5th edition and is used all over the world. Paul has taught at many different universities around the world including T.U. Munich, Germany, T.U. Delft, The Netherlands, North Carolina, USA. He has successfully supervised over ten PhD research projects.
Zoë Dann PhD, MPhil (Eng), M.Eng and Man, PG Cert (Dist), FHEA
Zoë is Senior Lecturer in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. She has experience managing development and technology transfer projects in engineering and IT and has initiated, developed and delivered a number of programmes supporting SME’s and start-ups in Merseyside. Zoe has published over half a dozen articles. Her research interests are technological entrepreneurship, complexity theory and knowledge management and their application to innovation and entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship pedagogy, SME development.
Vijay Vyas PhD (Edinburgh Napier)
Vijay is Senior Lecturer in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. He has been Professor of Business Economics at the MS University of Baroda (India) andvisiting Professor in Entrepreneurship at Lancaster University Management School (UK). He is a founder member of the Society of Entrepreneurship Educators.
Vijay is the founder of Indian Entrepreneurship Initiative, a consortium of three premier institutes in India namely, Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurship Development at Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmadabad and Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad. The consortium carries out research activities of Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) in India and publishes annual GEM India reports of which Vijay is one of the contributing authors.
Vijay’s research interests are in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation, low-tech innovation by small companies in traditional industries and the relationship between entrepreneurship and economic growth.
Beth Rogers BA(Hons), MBA, FCIM, FInstSMM, FRSA, FHEA
Beth Rogers is Principal Lecturer in Sales Management. Portsmouth is the only UK business school recognised by the global University Sales Education Foundation. She is a member of the Academic Senate of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and was made an Honorary Fellow of the Sales Performance Association in 2011. Beth has had a leading role in the MA Sales Management programme, the undergraduate sales option and in-company sales programmes for many years; she also contributes to the MBA and MA Marketing.
Beth is a member of the Academic Senate of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and was made an Honorary Fellow of the Sales Performance Association in 2011. Her recent research has focused on examining how sales managers use third parties, such as contract sales organisations, to optimise sales performance in difficult economic conditions (sales outsourcing). Besides original research, Beth contributes to best practice in her professional community through projects such as applied research for a large service provider in the pharmaceutical sector, in-company workshops for senior sales managers and implementation support for key account management in a specialist services company.
