MSc International Human Resource Management

Monica Herrera Soto - MSc International Human Resource Management

Since completing my BA in History and my second BA in Industrial Relations I have been working for three years in a Human Resource department for a multi-national company in Barcelona, Spain. At this stage in my professional career, I felt I would like to develop my knowledge of several areas of human resources such as strategic human resource management or organisational development in addition to reviewing the strategies and policies for human resource management and human resource development.

There are several reasons why I have chosen to apply for the MSc International Human Resource Management in the University of Portsmouth. Firstly for its high degree of academic recognition, supported by the extensive knowledge and expertise of the staff of professors and researchers.

Secondly, for the structure of the course program which is highly appropriate in order to build on my existing practical experience in the field and to further develop and extend my knowledge, given the balance of an academic approach and a range of practical subjects. Thirdly, because the international content of the MSc as well as the international participation of the students, which allows us to share knowledge and different points of view.

I would recommend the MSc International Human Resource Management to anyone who wants to study in depth HR policies in an international context.
