Master of Business Administration
Residentials
Residentials offer a blend of academic lectures, industrial visits and evening entertainment. UK events focus on leadership, outward bound training, cultural diversity and personal profiling. Both the European Residential in Maastricht, Holland, and the Asian Residential in Tianjin, China, reflect on areas such as leadership, economic development, and the impact of national culture on business. Industrial visits involve plant tours and briefings from senior managers on how their corporate strategy has changed and why. Evening entertainment allows students to relax and get to know fellow students in an informal atmosphere.
UK Residential
Our UK Residential focuses on team building and team work, evaluating the preferences for managing and learning of individuals and teams. This residential is generally held at the ‘New Place’ Conference Centre, Shirrell Heath, in Hampshire. Students are briefed on activities that have been planned to take place during the residential in the weeks prior to the event and then undertake a complex business game during their stay.
European Residential
Students visit Maastricht Holland for a combination of academic presentations, company visits, evening entertainment and sightseeing. The academic conference programme, which takes place in the four star hotel where the participants were accommodated, included sessions with leading academics from the universities of Maastricht and Leiden.
China Residential
Students enjoy lectures from academics from Tianjin University about trading with China, and how China is developing. Visits to a number of companies responsible for China's astonishing growth in recent years, and to hear from managers on how their strategies had evolved over time, are undertaken.
Evening meals, entertainment at local restaurants and time for sightseeing completes the trip.
