What made you decide to come to the University of Portsmouth to enrol on your course?
My decision to apply to Portsmouth was partly based on positive reports from others who had completed courses here. Another reason was the fact that the university buildings are easy to reach by public transport.
How have you found the course?
The course was intense and challenging but rewarding as a result. Everything was well organised and tutors always made time to respond to and deal with individual issues.
How have you found life at the University of Portsmouth and what aspects of being a student here have you valued?
Although I was on a one-year course, I feel that the university provided good access to facilities and a smooth progression from induction to graduation. All staff were always helpful, and I found the library particularly valuable.
How has the course affected your life?
The course allowed me to pursue the job I’ve always wanted. I got my job during the course and started in September. The course provided a perfect introduction to the teacher’s life.
Would you recommend your course and/or studying with the School of Education and Continuing Studies to others?
I would definitely recommend this course to others wanting to embark upon a career in teaching. There was no “wasted” time: every lecture and seminar was very focused and progress was tangible.
