Jo Everett - BA (Hons) English and Creative Arts

After a year spent in Belize rehabilitating wild cats, Jo Everett returned to the UK and chose Portsmouth to study BA (Hons) English and Creative Arts.

 'I came down for one of the Preview Days in the summer and was impressed with the city and the university. The balance of English and drama on the course is great, and with the extra activities I can indulge my passion for music.'

I play principle clarinet in the University orchestra and I am also a choir member. As part of the course we have performed in various productions such as Kiss Me, Kate in the New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth. We have also created our own musical from scratch, which was a fabulous experience and was a great success.

I would love to be talentspotted, like most people on these courses! I might also look at a career in social work. This course has provided the confidence and communications skills that are essential for such a role.'
