Lucy Wynn, BA (Hons) Interior Design

Interior Design was a very enjoyable course to study. It covered a variety of subjects which inspired my creativity and gave me great insight into a career in design. The course was challenging but I gained invaluable experience and the chance to pursue my passion for design. Since graduation in 2011, I began an internship at an architects practice, and am now employed in an Interior Architects practice in London.

Mitchell Holder, BA (Hons) Interior Design

I would just like to express my gratitude towards all of the tutors in the architecture department, for helping develop my skills as a designer. I found the BA (hons) Interior Design course very enjoyable. Since leaving University with a degree in Interior Design, I have managed to break into the world of film, currently working as a Propman on a Tom Cruise film called 'All You Need is Kill', dressing sets and making sure they are ready to film on. It is a step in the right direction as I would ultimately like to become part of the art department, designing the sets, or becoming a set decorator which involves understanding what does and doesn't look good on camera.

Rebecca Skeels, BA (Hons) Interior Design

I have been working in the professional world for just over a year now and can’t really believe how much time flies! After graduating from the University of Portsmouth in July 2011, I was struck with a huge culture shock as I was released into the real professional world - a daunting, yet also exciting, prospect. Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Portsmouth. The course was a lot of fun, the main tutors were friendly, supportive and to say the least, very patient! Throughout the three years of the course I feel we were taught a healthy balance of the creative and professional business side of the professional design world. Overall, I am glad I chose to study at the University of Portsmouth. The close student community and easy access to all campuses made learning there a dream, leaving me with a treasured memory and fantastic experience.
