William came to Portsmouth from Henfield, Mid Sussex after visiting the university at a Preview Day. He was very impressed with the city and the course. 'I like the creative elements of the course, the computer design and engineering.
A lot of the course is theory-based in the classroom, but the class s are small so the lecturers know us well and are very approachable.' William remains open minded about his plans after graduation. His year placement was spent with an engineering consultancy specialising in the water utilities, working with major water companies, something that William found to be very useful experience.

I enjoyed my course, particularly the project based learning, which allowed practical work to be carried out alongside the theory. The labs and my personal tutor were extremely supportive and I found this a great help throughout my degree.
The facilities are all of a high standard, which makes learning a lot easier. Any problems experienced outside of your academic studies can easily be solved through the student support services, which are based in the Nuffield Centre.
Portsmouth is a great place to be a student I liked it so much I decided to stay on and do a postgraduate degree here.
