BSc (Hons) Computing
Will Foster - BSc (Hons) Computing
'I chose the BSc (Hons) Computing course because it covered all my interests: computer systems, software, networking and programming. The course also offered a placement year and this has opened up a wealth of opportunities and proved that the academic and life skills that I was learning were required to really achieve in industry.
The University staff are an immense source of information, they are always willing to help if you have any problems. The facilities are great, with computers available at most hours of the day and the campus-wide wireless access is also very useful if you need to find a quiet corner to work.'
Corinne Collier - BSc (Hons) Computing
'My tutor at college recommended the University of Portsmouth to me. When my application was accepted I attended an Open Day. I was so impressed with the enthusiasm and approachability of the lecturers, staff and students that any doubts I had been feeling were instantly dismissed.
I have just completed a HND in Computing and have fast-tracked through to the final year of the BSc (Hons) Computing. The course has a core unit in both semesters, each worth 20 credits and I have chosen a 40-credit engineering project. The remaining 40 credits were used in selecting units that best suited my personal academic interests and career plan. The flexibility of this degree course and its rich choice of units have made it a perfect choice for me.
I have enjoyed every last minute of the lifestyle here. The student voice is readily expressed and openly heard. For those wishing to take advantage, there is support for every aspect of your stay here from academic, pastoral, and social to financial. All you have to do is turn up, study and enjoy what's going on around you.'
