I live locally so the University of Portsmouth was the most convenient university for me. I had also heard of the very good reputation of the new School of Professionals Complementary to Dentistry and courses such as the joint therapy and hygiene, which is NHS funded. My course provides a lot of direction about job opportunities but I think that after graduation, I would like to go further in my studies at postgrad level.
The School doesn’t compromise on quality. It teaches the most up-to-date dentistry with the most up-to-date equipment. The teaching staff are very helpful and have a variety of skills and techniques in their fields. The Library facilities have just been extended with new sections in the last few years. It is an efficient and prosperous university to study at.
I’ve heard that the university boxing team is doing real well, but I’ve yet to join a club. The University gym is a very good way of getting into shape, providing squash, badminton, basketball and other classes to help make your spare time fun.
The best thing about Portsmouth is the sea, hanging out at the beach in summer, jogging when you find the time or just watching the sunset.

My dentist actually recommended that I applied for this course. It's tough, but you get to work with patients, which is
enjoyable and very rewarding. We have the best facilities we could need, with the phantom head laboratory, clinic etc.
The staff are also fantastic. They are always willing to help us to do our best. The city is great, especially the fact that it
is so close to the beach. I live close to the city centre, which makes it easier to have the occasional night out as long
as there is't too much work to be done.
