BSc (Hons) Television and Broadcasting
Charlie Watts, Course Leader
I am the current course leader, a post-production specialist and Avid Certified Instructor. I have come from industry, having worked as a TV broadcast video editor.
I am enormously proud of the course that I helped develop back in 2005. I think the key thing for any potential TV and film student to consider is, what is the right course? It’s a difficult question to consider because there is seemingly so many courses offering film, video and TV skills around the country. My course was developed and designed to truly emulate the TV industry and we run two TV studios and our own TV channel, which is obviously a huge advantage. If the TV industry is of interest, then I would suggest to any prospective student to seriously look and consider our here course.
We have managed to convince two major broadcasters to endorse the course and both offer support, employment and prizes for outstanding student work.
The Avid Certification is also a real accolade and I’m proud of everyone who has achieved instructor status, and for the students who have already passed the Avid User exam with us. Industry wants real skills and experience, and being able to offer certification is a worthy achievement for any student on a TV course.
