BSc (Hons) Television and Broadcasting

Hayley Rutter, Presentation Scheduler at BSKYB

Hayley became the CCI TV Channel manager for her third-year university project and since graduating in 2012 she has managed to impress BskyB enough to gain a job  in producing daily transmission schedules for BSkyB Entertainment channels, which includes Sky1, Atlantic, Living, Arts and Sky2. The job is a great platform for working closely with TV production and other departments such as compliance, acquisitions, promos, networked media, press and publicity, programme information/EPG, marketing, sponsorship, presentation and transmission.

'BSc (Hons) Television and Broadcasting allowed me to focus on exactly what I wanted to pursue in the TV industry. The course challenged me to produce my very best work and without doubt it helped me get the job I wanted.

Tom DiFonzo, Multimedia Producer at Dow Jones

Tom was one of the first students to graduate from our course and after graduating he has become head videographer at Dow Jones, with  responsibility for producing daily live news for the Wall Street Journal Live Stream.

'The course team really pushed me and year by year I got better and better at what I wanted to do. My interview with Dow Jones was hard, but the curriculum helped me secure employment and I’ve not looked back since. The course was hard work, comprehensive, but if the TV industry is for you, I believe it gave me all I needed to succeed.'

Phillippa Beasley, Edit Assistant at Editworks

Phillippa graduated in 2011 and applied for a few jobs in the Soho post-production district. Within a few weeks of graduating she was working for Edit Works and she has recently become an assistant editor. Edit Works are involved with shows such as Harry Hills TV Burb, Russell Howards Good News and the Graham Norton Show.

I was on a completely different course and unsure at what I wanted to do. I managed to convince the course leader of this course to transfer me and that has best decision I ever made because I left uni and walked straight into work. Within a year I have been able to win promotion and become an editing assistant. I will always be grateful for the opportunities this course has given me.'

Richard Bearpark, Videographer for IGN

Richard is a recent graduate from the course and has already accumulated a number of freelance jobs in a short space of time. He is currently filming events and promotions for IGN.

'This course really knows how to get the best out of you and I feel really match-fit due to the way it's structured and what was required from me. I feel I have the skills and confidence to get the job I want.'
