Mock trial of a serious sexual assault case

The video shows law students presenting evidence in court during the mock trial of a serious sexual assault case, which was staged to give students across faculties a real-life learning experience of one of the toughest cases to secure a conviction.

Over 30 student biologists, criminologists, lawyers, actors and psychologists followed the case from the discovery of the crime scene through various stages of evidence analysis to the presentation of findings in court.

Although it was a fictitious case, it was tried in the University's mock courtroom – a replica of a crown court, complete with dock, witness box, public gallery, jury rooms and interview rooms – making it as close to the real thing as you can get.
