Distance Learning programmes at the University of Portsmouth consist of various printed, video, online or other materials that allow students to study at work or home.

The key benefit of Distance Learning is flexibility. You gain the opportunity to study at home or in the workplace at times that suit you best and at your own pace.

Sometimes you will see courses of a similar nature referred to as Flexible or Open Learning. If courses are delivered entirely by computer and the internet they are known as Online Learning.
