MA
Learning and Teaching
Enhance your personal skills and professional status in learning and teaching
Course Overview
Why take this course?
If you would like to develop your ability to take a lead in learning and teaching across a range of educational contexts, this course is for you.
The programme is designed to explore practical and reflective issues relevant to teachers, lecturers (including those working in FE), Early Years practitioners, higher level teaching assistants and those with a teaching role in other professions such as nursing.
What will I experience?
On this course you can:
- Focus on educational issues expressed in your own professional context and experience
- Update your subject knowledge to ensure that your qualifications have currency in an increasingly competitive market
- Progress from a Postgraduate Certificate in a related area, or have your prior experience or learning accredited as part of this MA
What opportunities might it lead to?
You are highly likely to have embarked on teaching career before studying this course. As a graduate, you will be able to bring relevant research and an enhanced skill set to bear on your work, thus enriching your employability prospects in the education sector.
Whilst I was doing my PGCE, I was informed that if I completed the Master's level units, I could then finish my Master's later and use my credits; I thought it was really worth it.
