Entry

For year 1 entry applicants require successful completion of 1 year of HE study, plus English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 5.5 with no component score below 5.5, or equivalent.
For year 2 entry applicants require successful completion of 2 years of relevant HE study, ideally including the English Legal System, plus English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 5.5 with no component score below 5.5, or equivalent.
For year 3 entry applicants require successful completion of 3 years of relevant HE study, including study of the English Legal System, Contract Law and Tort Law, plus English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.0, or equivalent.

Light bulb Structure & Teaching

Year one

The first year will introduce you to the English legal system. Alongside your study you will continue to develop your English language skills and be introduced to the skills needed for successful study at university in the UK.

Core units in this year include:

Year two

Further develop your understanding of law, while choosing to study the aspects of law that interest you most. Contract law, employment law and commercial law are just some of the topics covered this year.

  • Business English

Options to choose from in this year include:

Year three

This year specifically focuses on public and private international law with units to ensure you continue to develop your English language and business English skills. You will also undertake an individual business research project on a relevant topic of your choice.

Mock Courtroom

You can be part of our full blown mock trials and moots in our mock courtroom. The £1 million development is an exact replica of a crown court, complete with dock, witness box, public gallery, jury room and interview rooms. Gain firsthand experience of a realistic court setting.

International Office

We are a very cosmopolitan community with more than 4,000 international and EU students from over 100 different countries. The role of the International Office is to provide you with extensive support to make your time here as stress-free and enjoyable as possible, enabling you to focus on your studies.

Language Laboratories
