Discounts and Bursaries from the University of Portsmouth
Alumni Discount*
The University offers a reduction on course fees of 20% for self-funded students who hold a University of Portsmouth degree and are undertaking a full-time or part-time taught postgraduate or research degree. You should ask for the discount when you pay in advance or at registration. Conditions apply, please visit www.port.ac.uk/alumnipostgraddiscount to find out whether your course is eligible for an alumni discount.
International Bursaries*
Self-funding full-time International students, new to the University of Portsmouth, will attract a bursary discount equal to a 10% reduction in their tuition fee payment. This reduction applies to the first year of study only, and excludes students studying courses with a fee less than Fee Band 1 in 2010-11.

Staff Discount*
A 20% staff discount is available on fees that are paid personally by the member of University staff for part-time courses only. Staff may apply to pay the fees by five instalments (completing in March) by deduction from salary.
Early Payment Discount
An early-payment discount of 2% is given to all students (excluding distance learning courses) where self-funded fees for the year are paid in full before or at registration. Students may pay their fees anytime before registration to the Finance Department in University House or online at www.port.ac.uk/webpay. Only the self-funded element may be discounted if you are partly sponsored.
Business Scholarships for Masters courses
The Portsmouth Business School offers a number of scholarships for self-funding students applying for taught postgraduate study.
Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Research Degrees Bursaries
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences offers bursaries for Home/EU students in January/February and between June and August. every year. Bursaries include payment of fees, a maintenance stipend (£13,290 in 2009-10) and an allowance for fieldwork. The bursary agreement includes a requirement to undertake up to 6 hours teaching per week during each semester. Please see the FHSS Bursaries webpage for more information.
Additional Support Funds from the University of Portsmouth
Funds are available to some full and part-time Home (not EU or International) postgraduate students. Awards are income assessed and evidence of self-financing will be required. Applications can be made at the Student Finance Centre.
* Only one of these discounts can be claimed against each fee.
Students eligible to claim one of the discounts shown by *, are still entitled to claim 2% early settlement discount on the net value of their fees.

Postgraduate Solutions Bursaries
Postgraduate Solutions Ltd is offering the opportunity of a £500 bursary to thirteen students starting postgraduate courses in September/October 2013. Payment of the award will be made directly to the institution, and will be discounted from the fees as appropriate. Students may only apply for a bursary after they have accepted an offer of a place at their chosen institution.

Target Courses Bursaries
Target courses is giving away six bursaries of £2,000 each, to help pay course fees. The competition is open to students interested in taking a postgraduate course next year. FindaMasters.com Bursaries
Findamasters.com has recently launched new funding awards. The bursaries, which total £5,000, are available to students of any nationality and across a range of subject areas. There are nine awards on offer including one general prize and a further eight that are subject specific.
