Study costs
Tuition fees
Detailed information about fees and funding for postgraduate study is available on our Student Finance pages.
Our postgraduate fees for 2012/2013 are displayed on each individual course page via a link on the left hand side. Alternatively, you can check the fees for the course you wish to study on our course fee look-up page www.port.ac.uk/feelookup Course fees are set annually and reflect factors such as the type of study involved, the course content, the use made of special equipment and facilities (especially those courses which are laboratory based) and the qualification gained.
If you are not sure whether you would be eligible to pay tuition fees at the 'Home' or 'Overseas' rate, please e-mail feeassessment@port.ac.uk where a member of staff will be able to assess your status. Please remember to provide your full name and application number.
Other course-related costs
All students should allow for the additional cost of course textbooks and charges for basic items such as photocopying, computer CD/DVDs, etc. Some courses may also require the purchase of specialist equipment or software and there may be further charges on specific courses for bench fees, study trips, protective clothing and so on.
Accommodation and general living expenses
The costs of your accommodation, food, clothing and bills. The cost of living in Portsmouth will vary, but we would advise you to budget around £5,000-£6,000 for each academic year to cover accommodation and living costs.
