Postgraduate

Taught Masters

These courses normally incorporate formal teaching, tutorials and seminars with individual study, projects and written examinations. You will be required to undertake an in-depth study of a specialised topic and to demonstrate the ability to present knowledge clearly by submitting a dissertation or project report for examination on conclusion of the course.

Most full time courses last one year. Some are in a modular form and many may be undertaken over a longer period, while others are available on a part-time basis.

Postgraduate diplomas, certificates and other post experience courses

Most postgraduate diploma courses are followed in parallel with the relevant taught Masters courses and have a large amount of course content in common. There are variations from course to course, but the postgraduate diploma typically comprises the taught part of the Masters programme without the research project and dissertation.

Many of the post-experience courses offered by the University are validated by relevant professional bodies. The wide choice available creates a variety of opportunities for practising professionals to enhance or consolidate their career prospects through adding to their first degree, higher diploma or professional qualifications.
