What is your background?
I am an HPC registered radiographer who worked full time clinically until 2000 when I became a lecturer in radiography, first at City University, London and then here at the University of Portsmouth.
What are your research interests?
Digital Radiographic Imaging; Image interpretation in Radiography; Visual Perception in Radiography.

Current Projects:
I am currently setting up a project examining the effect of training on undergraduate radiography students’ image interpretation scores over the three years of their degree.

My PhD studies were an exploration of factors potentially affecting the perception and interpretation of medical images used in Higher Education
Define best research/education experience:
I enjoy teaching material that is new or challenging to the students involved. It is rewarding to see their understanding deepen over a series of lectures to the point where they can see the potential for this subject within their own practise or research.
