I have been a Dental Nurse for 25 years. I qualified in May 1992. After completing the National Examination I went on the gain qualifications in General Anaesthetics and Sedation in 1997 and Radiography in 2003.

 

I worked in general practice for 18 years in both NHS and Private practices.  I worked in a GA clinic for 10 years treating both paediatrics and adults and really enjoyed this. Part of my job involved working with an Oral Surgeon one day a week and found this extremely interesting. This role included procedures in Apicectomies, wisdom teeth removals and implants.

 

I joined the University of Portsmouth in March 2007 as a dental nurse and joined the WBDS team, which was an NHS service for patients. After this service finished I began to work on clinic with the Hygiene Therapy Students. I find this

very rewarding and enjoy working with the students.

 

In September 2010 Kings College London joined the University of Portsmouth and now I have the opportunity to work with 5th year dental students.
