In 2015 I graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. My dissertation was based on identifying the neural signatures of different types of empathy using an electroencephalographic (EEG) based methodology. My other areas of interest during my undergraduate degree were personality, states of consciousness and bio/neuro-feedback treatments. In 2015 I was awarded a PhD bursary and began research under the supervision of Dr Roger Moore, Professor Kim Bard and Dr Lorenzo Stafford.
I am currently a marker for the Applying Psychological Research Methods 1 and the Introduction to Psychological Science Units. I also assist with lectures in these units.
My research continues work into discovering the neural correlates of Gray's reinforcement sensitivity theory. Most of the studies that I will be conducting have a focus on the behavioural inhibition component of Gray's theory and subsequently feature goal conflict tasks. However I will also be conducting a study into the flight/fright/freeze component using a novel task. These studies will use EEG to try and correlate the systems with the electrical activity recorded from the participants.
My wider interests include emotional regulation systems, consciousness and bio-feedback research.
