Study Abroad

Every year the Department of Sport and Exercise Science welcomes students from our partner institutions and supports outgoing students planning to undertake a study exchange. Students can undertake a year study exchange with one of our four partners and incoming students can select from a rich range of subject choices. Please see our Google site for our current study abroad partner institutions.

Erasmus

Erasmus is the European Commission's educational programme that enables students to study or gain work experience in a different European country while completing a degree.

The Department of Sport and Exercise Science has a number of European partnerships and these partnerships provide opportunities for students and staff to exchange and collaborate across Europe.

There are many benefits to enhancing a degree with international participation, including the chance to learn another European language, understand the global context we live in, explore design from a different perspective and to experience life within a different culture.

Work Experience Abroad

For students who wish to gain some practical work experience related to their studies, the Erasmus work placement scheme also offers internships abroad for a minimum of 3 months in any of the 33 countries involved in the Erasmus programme. This allows students to better understand the industry they are interested in, while, also improving their language skills in a working environment. At present, this opportunity is only available during the summer period between 2nd and 3rd year of degree courses offered in the Department of Sport and Exercise Science.

For general information about Erasmus, for both incoming and outgoing students, please visit the University's Study Abroad pages.
