I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Forensic Psychology from the University of Portsmouth in 2016. During and after my undergraduate degree I worked as a VRA for the department of psychology, specifically working within the area of how gait biomechanics inform the detection of aggression. I finished working as VRA in February 2017 to join the Department of Sport and Exercise Science as a lab technician. Outside of work I am a keen photographer and scuba diver, having qualified as a PADI Divemaster since November 2016.
My role includes organising and setting up the laboratory, calibration and maintenance of equipment, assisting with experimental procedures, and providing first-aid to projects in environmental extremes.
My main responsibilities are to manage the running of the exercise physiology laboratory. This involves electrical testing, servicing and general maintenance of the equipment. I also help to run exercise tests for undergraduate, MSc and research projects.
This includes organising and setting up equipment for teaching classes and research, calibrating, maintenance and repair of equipment as well as helping with researching new equipment to enhance the existing facilities.
