Rachel graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fashion and Textiles from Liverpool John Moores University in 1994. During her studies she the Royal Society of Arts student design awards, her work was exhibited at Butlers Wharf Design Museum.
She worked as a Knitwear Designer in Derbyshire for Coats Viyella expanding major core product areas for Marks and Spencer before moving to London and working as a Senior Designer for Sara Lee Courtaulds Ltd.
Her design employment spanned over twelve years. During this time she has worked across a broad range of product areas; men's and women's knitwear, men's and women's casual wear, men's formalwear, swimwear and loungewear, supplying major high street retailers across the UK and Europe. Rachel was responsible for all stages of the design process, this involved trend analysis, producing mood and colour boards, garment development, fabric sourcing, print design, packaging and ticketing concepts, presentations of products and design boards to range selectors.
Rachel has been a Fashion Lecturer for nearly four years, working on a part time and full time basis at the University of Portsmouth and Southampton Solent University.
