Profile
| BA (Istanbul) | MA (Goldsmiths, London) | PhD (Portsmouth) |
I joined Portsmouth in 2003, and combine my teaching with a continuing schedule of works for an international audience. I exhibited at the 50th Venice Biennale in 2003, was short-listed for the Beck’s Futures Prize in 2004 and most recently have exhibited my work in the Artes Mundi 4 exhibition Cardiff, having been shortlisted for that prize.
Central to my practice are concepts and themes that probe the notion of place, explored in my multiple channel video and sound installations. Many of my works centre on ideas of ephemerality, rhythm, transience and mobility.
